Message A great story, and it will only get better. My story is a bit different, but you might find it interesting...

When I retired from the USN in 2004, I was looking for a Turbo Supra, but could not afford one; just surfing Auto Trader and found a white TT in Houston (I live in NW FLA), almost bought it, then found it had a salvage title from being in a dealer lot that flooded. Came across a 90 EH7 TT, New Mexico car, built in Jan of 90 (last four VIN 3494). offered by the brother in law of the original owner, a dentist that had passed at the age of 50.

He was selling the car for his sister, who had two daughters and they both wanted it. It was bone stock and has only 45K miles. He also was retired USN, so we chatted and he was asking a fair price. I had a local mech check it out and it was sound with a clean title. I made the deal and flew out to El Paso and picked it up, then had a "learning curve: blast driving it across TExas on I-10.

That was twelve years ago; over that time I have put about every bolt on upgrade I could and have the good fortune to have several very dedicated TT mechs work on it. Now running HKS EVO 4 Boost controller, at one bar putting down 455 RWHP and 476 RWTQ and at 1.35 bar getting 581 RWHP and 566 RWTQ on 93 octane gas.

As you are experiencing, I get a grin every time I drive it, lots of head turning and questions, and positive comments.
Even though I have owned the car for 12 years, it is still my baby; even got a personalized plate last year "ZBLONDI".

Good luck, and enjoy the ride...

Mike in NW FLA
